Pure Wensleydale Batts

These are a selection of my latest additions to my Etsy shop.  I am  dying my Wensleydale fleece and then carding it on my Wild Carder.  I dye about 300 grams of each colour way and then card it 4 times to get it as smooth as possible.  I can dye larger quantities if needed and blend them as I am carding in case there is a slight variation in the shade.  The wool is wonderfully soft and full of lanolin.   If it does not sell no problem as I will have all this fiber ready to spin and I will use it myself.
If anybody would like a specific colour just contact me through Etsy and if I have the dye in stock I will do it.  See them on my website :

A Blend of Fibres

This skein of yarn is a mixture of black Jacob and Wensleydale  fibre.   I spun it up for a client but it was too fine and so I over dyed  to make this very nice colour.   The two fibres make a lovely yarn and it is great fun to dye it to get a really interesting effect./  The undyed yarn is lovely too.  I only had the one skein  which was snapped up very quickly,  must do some more

My New Wild Carder

This is the first yarn I have spun using batts made on my new Ashford Wild carder.  This carder takes wool that is longer and more tangled than an ordinary carder.   This means I can prepare fiber that i have had to throw out in the past and also is making the preparation of other fiber so much faster.  Some of the Wensleydale fleece in the past has been so slow to prepare all that is in the past.  I hope to have lots of new products coming on line in the future
